Joint Committee

संयुक्त समिति
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

A joint committee of both Houses may be formed to consider Bills or other matters referred to it. The committee shall consist of members from both Houses in proportion to their strength.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

For complex legislation, both houses can form a joint committee — a smaller working group that hammers out details before the full houses vote. Membership is proportional to each house\'s size. This is where the real legislative negotiation happens, away from the drama of the full chamber.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

दुवै सदनको संयुक्त समिति गठन गर्न सकिन्छ — विधेयक वा अन्य विषयमा विस्तृत छलफलका लागि।

Good Aspects

Enables detailed, bipartisan legislative work on complex issues.

⚠️ Concerns

Committee work is often opaque — public and media have limited access to proceedings.
