Original Text

Members of Parliament enjoy freedom of speech in Parliament. No MP can be arrested, detained, or prosecuted for anything said or any vote cast in Parliament.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

MPs have absolute freedom of speech INSIDE Parliament — they can say anything without being sued or arrested for it. No court can prosecute an MP for their parliamentary speech or vote. This isn\'t a personal privilege; it exists so MPs can criticize the government fearlessly. But it doesn\'t cover actions outside Parliament.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

संसदमा भनेको कुरा वा दिएको मतका लागि कुनै सांसदलाई गिरफ्तार, मुद्दा वा कारवाही गर्न सकिँदैन।

Good Aspects

Enables fearless debate and government scrutiny without threat of prosecution.

⚠️ Concerns

Some MPs abuse privilege to make defamatory statements they wouldn\'t dare make outside Parliament.
