Restrictions on Discussion

छलफलमा प्रतिबन्ध
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

No discussion shall take place in Parliament on the conduct of judges in the discharge of their duties, except on a motion for impeachment. Sub judice matters cannot be discussed.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

Two things you CANNOT debate in Parliament: (1) how judges are doing their job (unless impeaching them), and (2) cases currently before the courts (sub judice). This protects judicial independence — politicians can\'t use Parliament\'s platform to pressure judges on pending cases or publicly attack judges for unfavorable rulings.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

न्यायाधीशको आचरण (महाभियोग बाहेक) र अदालतमा विचाराधीन मुद्दामा संसदमा छलफल निषेध।

Good Aspects

Shields judiciary from political interference through parliamentary debate.

⚠️ Concerns

Can be used to deflect legitimate concerns about judicial conduct or delayed justice.
