The Government shall complete the peace process initiated by the Comprehensive Peace Accord of 2006, including integration/rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants and conflict victims.
The 2006 Comprehensive Peace Accord ended the Maoist war, but implementation required years of follow-through. This article mandates completing the peace process: integrating or retiring former Maoist combatants (19,000+ were in UN-monitored cantonments), providing reparations to conflict victims, and resettling displaced persons. Most combatants chose voluntary retirement with cash payments.
