Art. 299 · Part 33
Existing Courts
विद्यमान अदालत
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text
Courts existing at the commencement of this Constitution shall continue to function until restructured under the new federal judiciary provisions.
💡 Plain Language Explanation
All courts — Supreme Court, Appellate Courts, District Courts — continued operating during the transition. Cases in progress weren\'t disrupted. The judicial restructuring (converting Appellate Courts to High Courts, establishing provincial courts) happened gradually. Pending cases were transferred to the appropriate new court under the federal structure.
🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या
विद्यमान अदालतहरू संघीय न्यायिक पुनर्संरचना नभएसम्म कार्यरत रहे।
✅ Good Aspects
Judicial continuity ensured ongoing cases weren\'t derailed by constitutional change.
⚠️ Concerns
Restructuring took years; some courts operated in limbo during the transition period.
