Special Court

विशेष अदालत
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

A Special Court may be constituted by law to try specified types of cases such as organized crime, corruption, or money laundering.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

Beyond the regular three-tier courts, Nepal can create Special Courts for specific crime types — organized crime, corruption, money laundering, human trafficking. The Special Court currently handles corruption cases referred by the CIAA. Having a dedicated court prevents regular courts from being overwhelmed by complex financial crime cases.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

विशेष अदालत — संगठित अपराध, भ्रष्टाचार, मनी लाउन्डरिङ जस्ता विशेष मुद्दाका लागि।

Good Aspects

Specialized jurisdiction enables expertise in complex financial and organized crime cases.

⚠️ Concerns

Special Court has been criticized for slow proceedings and low conviction rates in high-profile corruption cases.
