Pension

Government employees, members of security forces, and constitutional office holders shall be entitled to pension and other benefits as provided by law.

Government employees who serve the required period are entitled to pension after retirement — a monthly payment for life. This covers civil servants, police, army, teachers, and constitutional office holders. The pension system is a major fiscal obligation: as Nepal\'s government workforce grows, so does the pension bill, which now consumes a significant portion of the budget.
