Remuneration and Facilities

The remuneration and facilities of constitutional office holders (President, VP, PM, CJ, Speaker, etc.) shall be as determined by federal law. Their pay cannot be reduced during their term.

How much do the President, PM, Chief Justice, and other top officials get paid? Federal law decides, not the officials themselves. And critically, their pay CANNOT be cut during their term — this prevents financial retaliation against independent office holders. A new Parliament can change pay for future terms but not retroactively.
