The Mayor (in municipalities) or Chairperson (in rural municipalities/Village Executives) is the head of local executive, directly elected by citizens.

Unlike provincial CMs (elected by assemblies), local leaders are DIRECTLY elected by citizens. Voters pick their Mayor or Village Chairperson themselves.
