Provincial Police
Each Province may have a Provincial Police force under the direction and control of the Provincial Government, as provided by provincial law.
Each province can have its own police force controlled by the provincial government. This is a major federalism provision — law enforcement isn\'t all run from Kathmandu. Provincial police handle day-to-day policing within the province while Nepal Police handles national security matters. The provincial CM, not the federal Home Minister, directs provincial police.
प्रत्येक प्रदेशमा प्रदेश प्रहरी — प्रदेश सरकारको नियन्त्रणमा। दैनिक सुरक्षाको जिम्मेवारी।
Local accountability — provincial police answer to elected provincial leaders, not distant Kathmandu.
Provincial police forces are still being established; coordination with Nepal Police remains unclear in many areas.
