Functions of PSC

The PSC conducts competitive examinations for federal civil service positions, recommends appointments, transfers and promotions, and advises the government on civil service matters.

The PSC\'s job: (1) design and run Loksewa exams for ALL federal government positions, (2) recommend who gets hired, promoted, or transferred, (3) advise on civil service policy. Millions of Nepalis sit Loksewa exams annually — the PSC determines their fate. No federal government hiring can happen without PSC recommendation, ensuring merit over nepotism.
