Functions of CIAA

The CIAA may investigate any public official suspected of corruption. It can file cases at the Special Court. It can recover illicit assets. It can write to concerned officials for necessary action.

CIAA can investigate and prosecute ANY public official for: bribery, embezzlement, abuse of authority, illicit enrichment. Files cases in the Special Court (not regular courts). Can seize and recover corrupt assets. This is Nepal's main anti-corruption enforcement mechanism.
