Provincial Bill Authentication

💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

After a Bill is passed by the Provincial Assembly, the Speaker presents it to the Provincial Chief. The Provincial Chief shall authenticate it within 15 days.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

The final step in making a provincial law: the Speaker sends the passed bill to the Governor, who signs it into law within 15 days. The Governor can return it once with suggestions, but if the assembly passes it again, the Governor must sign — no second refusal. Once authenticated, it\'s published in the provincial gazette and becomes enforceable law.

Good Aspects

Defined 15-day timeline and limited gubernatorial power keep legislation moving.

⚠️ Concerns

No meaningful executive veto means no check against poorly drafted provincial legislation.
