💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text
To be a member of the Provincial Assembly, a person must be a citizen of Nepal, at least 25 years old, a voter enrolled in the province, and not disqualified by law.
💡 Plain Language Explanation
Same basic rules as federal MPs: Nepali citizen, 25+ years old, registered voter in that province, no criminal conviction for moral turpitude, not holding a government job. The voter enrollment requirement means you must actually be registered in the province you want to represent — no carpetbagging.
🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या
नेपाली नागरिक, २५+ वर्ष, त्यही प्रदेशको मतदाता, नैतिक पतनमा दोषी नभएको।
✅ Good Aspects
Residency requirement ensures genuine local representation.
⚠️ Concerns
25-year age bar excludes youth from provincial politics too.
