Functions of Attorney General
The AG represents the Government of Nepal in all courts. No case on behalf of the government shall be withdrawn without the AG\'s consent. The AG has the right to speak in Parliament but not vote.
The AG\'s three key powers: (1) represent the government in ANY court in Nepal, (2) NO government case can be dropped without the AG\'s consent — this prevents political cover-ups, (3) can speak in Parliament on legal matters (but can\'t vote, since they\'re not an MP). The AG is the government\'s legal conscience.
