Conditions of Service of CJ and Judges

The CJ and SC judges who serve 5+ years are entitled to pension. Remuneration cannot be altered to their disadvantage. Judges removed by impeachment or convicted of moral turpitude lose pension rights.

SC judges get pension after 5 years of service, and crucially, their salary and benefits CANNOT be reduced while they\'re serving. This prevents governments from punishing independent judges financially. But if a judge is impeached or convicted of corruption, they lose everything — no pension, no gratuity.
