Election Commission Formation
The Election Commission consists of a Chief Election Commissioner and up to 4 commissioners, appointed by the President on recommendation of the Constitutional Council. Term: 6 years, non-renewable.
The ECN has up to 5 members (Chief + 4 commissioners), appointed via the Constitutional Council for 6-year non-renewable terms. They cannot be party members and must have experience in law, management, or election administration. The single-term rule means commissioners don\'t need to please anyone for reappointment.
