Provincial Assembly Privileges

प्रदेश सभा विशेषाधिकार
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

Members of the Provincial Assembly enjoy the same parliamentary privileges within the Assembly as federal MPs enjoy in Parliament.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

Provincial assembly members get the same free-speech protections as federal MPs: anything said inside the assembly chamber cannot be used against them in court. No arrest during sessions without Speaker\'s permission. These privileges exist so provincial legislators can criticize the provincial government fearlessly, without threat of prosecution.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

प्रदेश सभा सदस्यलाई संघीय सांसद सरहको विशेषाधिकार — सभाभित्र भनेकोमा कारवाही हुँदैन।

Good Aspects

Speech protection enables fearless legislative debate at the provincial level.

⚠️ Concerns

Privilege can be misused for defamatory statements, similar to the federal level.
