Provincial Public Service Commission

प्रदेश लोक सेवा आयोग
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

Each Province shall have a Provincial Public Service Commission to conduct examinations for provincial civil service recruitment and recommend appointments.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

Just like the federal Loksewa (Public Service Commission) runs national exams for government jobs, each province has its own PSC running competitive exams for provincial positions. Want to be a provincial health officer, teacher, or engineer? You take the provincial Loksewa exam, not the federal one. This ensures merit-based hiring at the provincial level.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

प्रदेश लोक सेवा आयोग — प्रदेश निजामती सेवामा भर्नाका लागि प्रतिस्पर्धात्मक परीक्षा सञ्चालन गर्ने निकाय।

Good Aspects

Merit-based recruitment prevents political patronage in provincial hiring.

⚠️ Concerns

Provincial PSCs are new and still building capacity; exam quality varies across provinces.
