💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

The CJ may appoint ad hoc judges to the Supreme Court when required due to case backlog or insufficient judges, with consent of the Judicial Council.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

When the Supreme Court is swamped — too many cases, not enough judges — the Chief Justice can appoint temporary (ad hoc) judges with Judicial Council approval. These are usually retired SC judges or experienced legal professionals brought in for a limited time to clear the backlog.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

मुद्दा धेरै भएमा प्रधानन्यायाधीशले न्याय परिषद्को सहमतिमा अस्थायी न्यायाधीश नियुक्त गर्न सक्छन्।

Good Aspects

Flexibility to handle case surges without permanently expanding the court.

⚠️ Concerns

Ad hoc judges may feel pressure to align with the CJ who appointed them.
