Courts to Exercise Powers of Justice

न्याय शक्ति अदालतमा
💡Highlight any phrase below and we'll explain what it means.
Original Text

Powers relating to justice in Nepal shall be exercised by courts and other judicial bodies in accordance with the Constitution, laws, and recognized principles of justice.

💡 Plain Language Explanation

ONLY courts can deliver justice — no police, military, or politician can punish anyone without a court verdict. This is the foundation of rule of law: the executive arrests, but only the judiciary convicts.

🇳🇵 नेपाली व्याख्या

न्याय सम्पादन गर्ने अधिकार अदालत र न्यायिक निकायमा मात्र — कार्यपालिकाले सजाय दिन सक्दैन।

Good Aspects

Clear separation of judicial power from executive — the bedrock of democratic governance.

⚠️ Concerns

Informal justice (community mediation, political pressure) still resolves many disputes outside courts.
